The Zuiko Digital ED 12-60mm F2.8-4.0 SWD lens incorporates Olympus?new Supersonic Wave Drive technology to provide ultra fast and quiet auto-focusing speed. The Supersonic Wave Drive motors provide fast focusing speed of approximately 170 milliseconds (0.17 seconds). With a 5x zoom covering a zoom range equivalent to 24mm to 120mm on a 35mm camera lens, it offers an extensive zoom capability. Boasting impressive close-up shooting capability, it allows users to shoot from as close as 25cm throughout the zoom range. Incorporating a circular aperture diaphragm which shapes aperture almost circular from the open position, tasteful defocusing can be achieved near the open aperture making the main subject appear more prominent.
